There are 10 categories of directive speech acts namely ordering, asking, inviting, suggesting, forcing, pleading, ordering, urging, challenging, and demanding. Furthermore, there are 4 types of illocutionary speech acts namely competitive, convivial, collaborative, and conflictive. 2 competitive categories, namely commanding and asking. 5 convivial categories namely thanking, welcoming, offering, congratulating, and greeting. 4 collaborative categories namely stating, announcing, reporting, and teaching. 3 conflictive categories, namely accusing, nagging, and reprimanding.
